HUMAN NOBLE ORIGIN

The Human Noble Origin is one of six origins available in Dragon Age: Origins for the Playable character. This character begins as the youngest child of the Teyrn of Highever, one of the most powerful nobles in Ferelden. Your father has tasked you to steward Highever while he and your elder brother leads your family's soldiers to join King Cailan Theirin's army at Ostagar.

The default name is "Aedan Cousland" if male, "Elissa Cousland" if female. The first name can be changed to whatever the player chooses. However, the surname is fixed. Rogue and Warrior humans start with this origin. For human mage characters, see Magi Origin.

Father’s Assignment

Start off by talking to other characters standing in Cousland Castle’s Main Hall (Human Noble Origin M1, 1). Your father Bryce Cousland, Arl Howe, and Duncan (he’ll arrive after a few sentences) are going to be the people you interact first before being allowed to explore.

Bryce will soon ask you to go and find your brother, Fergus for him. Before you head off to get Fergus, we recommend doing some side quests to get some experience for hitting the main story line, the first side quest that is easy to receive is Chaos in the Pantry.

Otherwise continue on with the main quest, and you will eventually you'll have to reach a small room marked on your map as the Fergus's Room (Human Noble Origin M1, 6). Talk to Fergus here, as well as to members of his family - Oriana and Oren. Bryce Cousland will show up here in a short while, along with his wife Eleanor. Exit this room to end the first quest of the prologue, and the next part of the prologue quest would be Howe’s Betrayel.
